why wouldn't it have it's own day of celebration?
The recipe is one we all know...Sandwich a toasted marshmallow and a piece of chocolate between two graham crackers and enjoy.
While S’mores are perfect for any occasion, National
S’mores Day provides the perfect excuse to make a few.

The
origin of this tasty snack is credited to the entrepreneur Alec Barnum.
However, The original recipe named "Some Mores" can be traced back to the Girl Scout handbook, Tramping and Trailing With the Girl Scouts, published in 1927.
It's practically your duty as an American to Celebrate National S'mores Day today! Take our S'mores challenge and try something different by adding some flare to your S'mores! Try spreading peanut
butter on the graham crackers before adding the other ingredients. Or substitute peanut butter cups in place of the chocolate bar. You can even replace the
graham crackers with fudge-dipped cookies.

Ingredients:
8 large marshmallows 4 whole reduced-fat graham crackers, halved
2 teaspoons fat-free chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons fat-free caramel ice cream topping
Directions: Using a long-handled fork, toast marshmallows until golden brown, turning occasionally. Place two marshmallows on each of four graham cracker halves. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and caramel topping. Top with remaining crackers.
